Pre-Kharif Organic Farming Trainings by DDS KVK to sensitize Local Farmers

DDS KVK organized series of pre-kharif trainings in April for farmers from Nyalkal, Kohir and Jarasangham mandals. Mr. E. Swamy, Program Assistant (Soil Science) highlighted the ideal time for soil sampling and its benefits demonstrating the procedure to take soil sample for testing. Mr. V. Ramesh, SMS (Agronomy) demonstrated the preparation and use of organic fertilizers like Panchagavya and Jeevamrutham. Dr. N. Snehalatha, SMS (Plant Protection) discussed pest management and the preparation of botanical extracts such as Dashaparni Kashayam and Brahmastram. Participants learned how to prepare and use natural fertilizers and were educated on the long-term benefits of organic farming. DDS NGO supervisors Keshamma, Chukkamma, Vinay and Balanna, along with 300 farmers actively participated. Farmers appreciated the hands-on training and expressed their willingness to adopt these practices in their agricultural activities.
